I can't believe it is Friday! Where does the time go?
I love this postcard that I found at my local antique store. Miss Evelyn Large. It is another birthday greeting. The card is from W&R British Manufacture. It was sent in 1929. I had better get my scanner cleaned as I see red lines on the card that are not suppose to be there. It is in perfect shape and such a beauty.
You can see all the beautiful cards over at Marie's blog here
Happy Friday everyone!

This picture reminds me of the image of one of our former Queens of Belgium, Queen Astrid. Beautiful postcard, and thanks for visiting my blog too!

1929? and still in such impeccable shape?? How have you managed to preserve it like this?? Amazing!
And its such a beautiful card as well!

Hi Debby,
That is a gorgeous postcard. What a lovely lady, I wonder what the story is behind Miss Evelyn Laye. If I remember, I'll Google her later today. Have a good weekend!

What a wonderful find! I too wonder who Evelyn Laye was. She looks positively wistful here. Thanks for sharing! Happy PFF!
Isn't it crazy how the name Evelyn fits her soo well too! It has such a glamorous and romantic ring to it! WHat a knock out of a card Debby! Happy PFF and big hugs!
She is beautiful. I wish movie stars and others in the public eye where still pretty and clean looking. Alas, most look like they've been drug behind a pickup truck for 30 miles before getting in front of the camera. Nice choice for PFF! :o)
Beautiful! I'm going to one of our local antique stores this weekend...hope I find a postcard that wonderful!
Evelyn Large was a beautiful lady! Thanks for sharing it. Thanks PFF.

I really like the greeting - I'd never heard of a Birthday Tide before :) What a great phrase.

that really is a gorgeous card. What a great find! Thanks for sharing :)
Great postcard. I always wonder about the models back then, what their lives were like because I don't think modeling would have been such an acceptable career for a lot of young women. I wonder if there was a stigma attached.
Beautiful card! Evelyn Laye was a gorgeous actress from England. If the card dates from 1929, she must have been 28 or 29 when her picture was taken. At 15 she already had made made her stage debut and she continued acting well into her nineties. Thanks for sharing and greetings from Amsterdam!
I think it is terribly sad that we've lost that glamorous Hollywood look of these old photographs. Beautiful card, beautiful woman.
She is beautiful & gorgeous !!!!
Thanks for sharing it with us.
