Turquoise & Copper for my ColorGroupies Friends..

I belong to a great group of 5 artists. Our group is called ColorGroupies and each month we make atc's from the colors that have been pre-determined for the year. January colors were turquoise & copper. All of my atc's have arrived to there destination so I can share here now.

I found myself feeling down because I came to the conclusion that I was spending way too much time on the internet and really not accomplishing things that I wanted to, including art. I have cut myself way back on internet time and am having lots of fun playing again. I actually had a great time making these atc's instead of feeling like it was something that I had to do because the month was coming to an end.. YAY ME!!!!!!

I bet we all have to reflect once in awhile about how best to use our time. I try to check on blog posts a few times a week now instead of making it a priority for hours everyday. I check in on FB early in the morning and never go back until the next morning. I like the freedom I have found in getting out and enjoying friends and family and doing things that are dear to my heart. I still love checking  my fav blogs, but I am now doing it on my terms and it isn't something that needs to happen to fulfill my day. Anyone else feel like this?

Have a great weekend everyone! I know I will..

First . . . the atc's are GORGEOUS and I'm sure your recipients will love them. And, yes, Deb. I, too, have cut back on blog visits and posting. I've also cut down on my participation in challenges and have been doing more exploring and playing in the studio. Good for YOU!!! Hugs, Terri xoxo

I feel exactly as you do! I get on the computer to check quickly something and before I know it three hours or more have passed and I haven't played at all. I need to try what you are doing. I also need to get some exercise. Your ATCs are fatastic by the way! Connie

Beautiful ATC´s Debby.
And you´re so right about the internet time. It´s so easy to get carried away and spend hours.

Oh my, what a beautiful color combination! I love aqua and rust together and you have a million perfect shades of it. Stunning!

I loved reading what you wrote about time. I have never felt guilty about how much or how little I FB, but I ALWAYS feel guilty about blogging - never feel I post enough myself and definitely feel like I owe a gabillion visits to everyone else. So, I salute you and admire you and I'm pondering the subject harder! Enjoy your freedom!

Have a great weekend!

LOVE all of your ATC - you used two of my favorite colors. I so agree with you on this making time for art. I have struggled with it the last 6 months and am coming to the same conclusion you are - i have to make time to do specific things. However, I backed away from posting and creating and now I am starting to revisit some blogs and trying to make sure I myself post to my blog. We all so go in circles sometime don't we! Enjoy your evening, hugs!

Oh, I get it.

So many times I go just to check out one thing and next thing I know, an hour has passed in the blink of an eye. I've been trying to cut down too, just so I can get more art time. Good for you!

I have come to the same conclusion that it´s impossible to visit every blog and create art... the time simply runs out!
It can be seen of these cards, that you have enjoyed making them. They are really gorgeous! I love this color combination!
Have a nice weekend!

I try to spend awhile in the morning and evening on the internet/blogging etc. It is so easy to get carried away while here. OWOH event is coming up and I know I'll be on for days.

Have fun creating!

And of course I love my card and will treasure it, Debby. Know just what you mean re the online time. With my dial-up connection things are even harder. But 2 hours per day is my absolute limit!

Gorgeous ATCs. The colors are fabulous.

Cutting back on the internet, FB, etc. is a good thing. Too often these things become almost an obsession, eating into time that could be spent communicating face-to-face with other human beings or writing a letter the old-fashioned way, or creating, or hanging out in nature. You're wise to say enough!

Gentle hugs!

Debby, I felt this way too. I am working on my book and noticed that I would stop check emails, surf blogs, etc. when I should have been working. I had to stop and say whoa! Once I did that, I was off again to the book. It's tough sometimes because you want to visit everyone all the time...
I love the ATC's you created and I'm so glad you stopped to do them. They are spectacular! I know each one receiving theirs will be thrilled!

These are gorgeous Debby - wow - I always love looking at your monthly color swap! Makes me want to start one - but as you know, I have other commitments pending!

And yes, the internet and balancing act is something I am always assessing and revisiting. The week my internet was down, I did enjoy having more 'me' time and I am trying, like you, to cap the time I spend.

Great topic. Even better ATC's!
