This weeks theme was Creating from the Past. Verb of the week was Mend. And quote was Forgiveness is the needle that knows how to mend. ~ Jewel
Not so sure I nailed this as I think my muse had started to go out the door before finished, but isn't that what the ride is all about, good days and bad days.
Also I am getting really excited that Alice in Wonderland opened today! I have to wait until Sunday as I have a date with hubby but I am so looking forward to this.

I'm not a good movie watcher...but I tell ya, ALICE is something I want to see! Now, if I only had a theatre close to me! Let me know what you think about it (on your date)...I'll drive the 1-1/2 hours to see it if you say it's a winner!
Oh, and nice MEND piece!! You're the best, Deb!
I'm excited about Alice, too. And that piece you posted at the top? Fabulous!
This is stunning! It isn't obvious that your muse took flight at all. I love the sentiment behind the piece too.

Debby, I like your "Mend" Creating from the Past collage piece. I think you captured the theme very well.
I too am looking forward to this movie. Huge Tim Burton fan! Not sure when I will get to see it however as there is no movie theatre in town. :(
Have a super weekend!

Your new piece is quite lovely. It's so delicate and warm - definitely speaks to the heart, which is really what forgiveness is all about, right? We're going to see Alice in Wonderland tomorrow - I am beyond excited!!! Hope you and the hubby have fun. :)

Debby, I like "Mend". I looked at it closely and the hand peeking out behind the dark colored heart is significant. You may have hit it just right. What does it mean to you?
I am going to see "Alice" tomorrow, and I am really looking forward to it!!!
Yea for us!
Sunday, you have to wait? yeah me too! Enjoy it,
Lisa

Hi Debby - thanks for the congrats re my 100th post! It came up so quick! Well, I sure do like what I see here - I love Alice in Wonderland and can't wait to see Burton's take on it. I have, unfortunately, heard some mixed reviews but they vary so much - from bloomin excellent to really terrible...it must be a divider aye?
Ooooo and love what you've been getting up to...looks like you found your muse in the end? It seems to me that it stayed till the end too...

I'm on the edge-of-my-seat excited about you heading to see Alice! My daughter, Puppet, and I attended the 12:01 AM premiere on Friday. "It was grand" is all I'm so far-saying, as I don't want to let any cats (Cheshire, or otherwise) out of the bag and spoil it for you. You're in for a good time, have fun!
i am so happy to have found your blog. i absolutely adore alice and love the book and am happy to see so many inspired by the story. i just went through a blah, can't paint anything phase and had to take down all of my inspiring photos. somehow it decluttered my brain and allowed me to paint new things i had been scared to create. i hated this new art at first bec it felt so different, but now see it was a happy progression. best wishes to you! xoxo, juliette
You nailed it with this piece of art work. I love it, love your stitches. Your muse is back, girlfriend..... your muse is back. Have fun at the movies!
Absolutely stunning collage, Deb! Love it! :-)
BEAUTIFUL collage, Debby!!
love your art piece. I have trouble creating anything even without a theme. I could never come up with something so wonderful.
what are you talking about? - this is lovely!
the pocket - well, everything! - adds up to a very evocative composition.
brava!
Your collage is beautiful!!!
It's out? My daughter (9) has been waiting for this to open. Guess we are heading to the movies...thanks!
I have to admit that I always feel a wee bit jealous (temporarily, of course) when I see the perfect quote that I have never found. Your exquisite collage is enhanced even further by the PERFECT quote. Sensational!
I think you muse must have hung around for a bit longer, Debby, as your page is gorgeous.
I love your mend piece.....I think it is really awesome...your muse is just fine...
you will have to let me know what you think about "Alice..."
