Back to Basics of glue and paper

I have been in a slump lately and just couldn’t get anything together. I would look around my play space and see all these products that I just had to have and have never used them. I guess you could say I am totally mad at me. I would get myself in such a funk that I couldn’t create anything. Do you ever have those days, weeks, months…. All that wasted money just sitting there, waiting to be played with.

I love collage and really haven’t been playing much with papers and glue. It is what got me started down this crazy road and what I so desperately wanted to get back to. Yesterday I finally talked myself into getting over all those must have things, setting it aside in my mind and brought out some of favorite Paper Whimsy images, papers, glues, some torn book covers, stickles, distress inks and just played. I found that I was happy and relaxed, good for the soul.

Here is the outcome of my playing.

  1. Hi Debby!

I know exactly what you mean as I have been having the same slump lately. I am vowing not to buy anything new until I start using up what I have. I hope I can do it. Your little girl is just so sweet and she is embellished perfectly. Hope you are having a great week.

    Hugs,
    Robin

  7. STUNNING. Sometimes touching and playing with the "the real thing" can be so fulfilling, while decreasing your built up stash a bit. The lace really puts this piece over the top.

  13. I know what you mean about the slump as of lately. To top it off, you are right, all of our supplies just sitting there, doesn't make us feel any better. I couldn't believe I was reading your words and feeling the same way.

It happens and I usually snap out of it eventually.

I love your collage, it is beautiful and your slump is now over.
