3 for 25

A collage I made for my art journal! Just a little fun at the circus. I just love this little guy from Paper Whimsy! He is always fun to use in my collages. Not so sure he looks like he is having such a great time with the elephants, but I am sure he will get over it...LOL...

Wonder Who Will Win????

2008 POW Winner Harlem Rocker

2007 POW Winner Alezzandro

2004 POW Winner Bit O' Gold

Tomorrow is the annual running of the Prince of Wales Stakes Race, the second leg of the Triple Crown in Canada. The event takes place at the Fort Erie Race Track. You can find out more about the track here:

The weather is suppose to be great tomorrow, sunny and low 70's, perfect for horse racing!
I work in Security at the Fort Erie Race Track so I will be busy in the surveillance room watching all that is happening throughout the track! We are expecting a huge crowd, so I am sure there will be lots of unknowns for us to stumble upon. LOL..

Decorated Envelope Swap

I signed up for a Secret Sister Swap over at the Paper Whimsy Forum and one of the requirements was to decorate a large envy to send off to our secret sister and stuff if full of some of their favourite things. I have my decorated envelope completed so I thought I would share it with you. This was so much fun to create and stuff full of wonderful goodies. I decided to actually ship my envy and the goodies in a box, so as not to get everything ruined while in transit.

Oh my gosh, is anyone looking for rain? About two hours ago, day turned to night and we had terrible thunder and lightening, that left us and all of a sudden about ten minutes ago the skies opened up, it has gotten dark again and it is teeming rain. My hubby has his Club Championships today and I have to assume he must be going on at least round 3 of getting kicked off the course and heading back into the clubhouse, in the holding pattern while waiting for the weather to through. Not my kind of fun!!! LOL....

Postcard Friendship Friday ~ My Hometown Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada

Thought I would share a bit of my hometown Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada with you this week for Postcard Friendship Friday. Enjoy and hope you will all come and visit some day!

Port Colborne's Street of Ships

Lakers, fishing tugs, luxurious private yachts and Salties from around the world pass right through the heart of Port Colborne while pedestrians stroll among the bars, boutiques and bistros of historic West Street.

Sugarloaf Harbour

Tall ships, luxury yachts and paddle boats find refuge in Sugarloaf Harbour, Port Colborne's premier waterfront development. Even non-boaters can enjoy the view and ambience from the balcony of the dockside restaurant, The Upper Deck.

The CSL "Niagara"
The largest-ever Canadian ship built for the Great Lakes ~ St. Lawrence, approaches downtown Port Colborne. A few hours earlier this same ship was honoured as the 1st upbound ship to enter the Welland Canal at the start of the 2000 navigation season.

Gateway to Niagara

The Port Colborne Lighthouse, a comforting sight for mariners of Lake Erie, stands as the Gateway to the Welland Canal, the Sugarloaf Marina and beautiful Niagara.

The romantic seaside setting of West Street, Port Colborne comes alive with tourists by the thousands during Canal Days every summer.

The Annual Boat Parade of Lights

Led by Buffalo's 100 year old Fire-boat the "Edward M Cotter" is framed by spectacular Fireworks during Port Colborne's Canal Days Festival.

All postcards were photographed and distributed by Thies Bogner MPA,FPPO. (Master Photographer) Welland, Onatrio.

This is a fun project to make, my own calendar. Time consuming, but enjoyable and I will have it to look at all next year. So go on, get busy and make yourself a calendar, you will love it.

Paper Whimsy Go Green Challenge

Over at the Paper Whimsy Forum, Rande posted a Let's Go Green Challenge. We were suppose to use at least 5 recycled items. I wasn't going to play at first as I am so behind on everything at the moment, but I couldn't resist and there is a long timeline to complete the project.

For the background of my collage I used torn cardboard from an old box and painted it. Gathered twigs and dead leaves from my backyard. Found rusty bottle caps, screen, nails and whatever that thing is tied to the twig at the bottom of the collage, LOL... I also used painted paper towels, scraps of paper and napkins, snippets of material, old screen that my husband just replaced from our patio door, since Colby decided to dash through it the other day to get to his horse buddy next door and a junk piece of wood that I found in Tom's workshop. The new thing I used was of course one of Paper Whimsy's gorgeous images.

I am so glad I decided to play this challenge, is was fun collecting and placing items that would probably made it to the garbage bin eventually.

Postcard Scavenger Hunt #5 ~ Night / Lights & Happy 4th of July everyone!

The romantic seaside setting of West Street, Port Colborne comes alive with tourists by the thousands during Canal Days every summer.

This image is from Canal Days, the Civic Holiday weekend in August. We always have a boat parade with Fireworks. The parade is led by Buffalo's 100 year old Fire~boat the "Edward M. Cotter" and is framed by spectacular fireworks.

All postcards were published and distributed by Thies Bogner MPA, FPPO (Master Photographer) Welland, Ontario.

Over at Postcardy's blog she issues a different challenge for each month. This month is Night/Lights and she wishes for each of us to post a card from where we live.
