Believe Collage

I love stone angels. They are so beautiful and such a joy to look at. I have been fascinated with them for some time. Last year I was in a Stone Angel Altered Book Round Robin and my book was so full of incredible art when it returned home to me, one of my all time fav round robins.

I made this Believe collage for a dear, sweet friend of mine and thought I would share it with you. Enjoy!

It's Friday - Time for Postcard Friendship Friday

I have been having internet problems all day today, wasn't sure if I would make it for PFF! So happy I was able to get up and running again. I love this card, she is so pretty and the colors are beautiful. Found this card while I was wandering through one of our local antique stores. On the back it say is was made by The Regency Publishing Co, London. Printed in Italy and it also say this is a real photo. Hope you enjoy her as much as I do.

Lace & Ribbons

This is a piece that I done a few years ago for a round robin altered book, but she is such a darling little girl. One of my fav images from Paper Whimsy.

Now that the nice weather is here and I am back to work for the summer it is hard to keep up with art time and blogging.

Pink Saturday is here again

Happy Pink Saturday, everyone! I cannot believe another week has passed us by. I have been terribly busy the past week and did not accomplish a thing for my Pink Saturday post, ahead of time, so I had to go with something fairly quick. I went to a yard sale last week and found oddles of pretty linens, tablecloths, doilies, hankies, aprons, couple of pictures, a few junk pieces of jewelry and a really cool watch, all for the huge sum of $20.00. I was so thrilled with my finds and was planning on doing a really great post but just couldn't fit it in. I was able to make it out camera shopping yesterday and came home with a Nikon COOLPIX P90, love it, but again haven't had enough time to play with it , so still using the ancient camera. LOL.. Be sure to check out all the beautiful Pink Saturday post over at Beverly's http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/ you will be sure to go straight to Pink Heaven.

Have a great weekend.

This is a 4x4 that I made for a vintage children swap and the hostess will be swapping the pages back out and binding into a book for all the swap partners. Can hardly wait to get this one back.

Atc I made for a friend, she is so darned cute and so pretty in pink!

Calendar Page

I am busy working on a calendar for 2010. In a bit of a hurry this morning, as work is calling, so I thought I would put my May calendar page up. I used so many different elements on this page. I first done my collage, then added it to layers of different scraps of material, doilies, buttons, ribbons and paints.

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Hands

Lois J. Funk

Mother's hands were busy hands,

But never did they fail
To take the time to tie a bow

Or braid a loose pigtail.

And never did those hands refuse

To soothe a fevered brow,

So even injured dolls pulled through

In Mother's hands, somehow.

It seemed those hands were magic,
Always knowing where to start

To reconstruct a shattered dream

Or mend a broken heart.

Dear Lord, I pray, as years go by,

Whatever life's demands,

That I may give just half the love

I've found in Mother's hands.

Missing you more than you could ever know, Happy Mother's Day, Mama!
I love you!

Seeing Pink

This is my first attempt at Pink Saturday! I had trouble coming up with something for the post. The first problem being that I am not a great story teller, the second problem my camera is getting on my nerves! I just can't seem to get a good picture with it for some reason, so hubby and I are going to go camera shopping within the week, I just can't take it any more. LOL...

Happy Pink Saturday

Oh, how I love these beautiful baby shoes. These were my first pair of shoes ever, they are so gorgeous in all of there satin and lace finery. They are the oldest pair of shoes I own, almost 53 years old and I am so thrilled that they are just as beautiful as the first day they went on my teeny, tiny, little feet. Such a thrill to be able to still have these, makes me smile everyday!

I love my sweet cherub girl. She is so beautiful. She has a little note with her "Love is Patient", so true!

Who doesn't love teacups and ribbons in pink?

Oh, Miss Flowers in all her glory. I bought this sweetie for my mother many years ago, I just love her. She is really special and so adorable.

This sweet baby in her pretty pink dress belonged to my mother. She loved to collect things and loved dolls.

Teddy with all of his pink pretties.

House & ATC Art

I was playing with some new digi sheets I got from Cute & Cool Blog Stuff

http://blo64rt.blogspot.com/ today. They were having a sheet giveaway over there yesterday, after I got my free sheet I was so impressed with it, I went and got a few more. The background sheets are totally awesome.

Side one of my house "Secrets", I used a background sheet, a couple other image sheets, german scrap, stamping and a pressed flower.

Side two of my house "The Heart Can do Anything", was made using a few different sheets. I added flowers, german scrap, and stamping.

The ballerina sheet is really pretty, I think it is new, not sure as this was my first shopping experience there. I used another of her background images, added a bird, flower, german scrap and stamping! Easy, peasy and fun!

This atc was made using a few different sheets from her collection, again love her background sheets! Added a few goodies and stamping!

Playing with PhotoFunia

I was visiting Patty's blog http://bitze.wordpress.com/ the other day and she had pics on there from this cool site PhotoFunia http://www.photofunia.com/ , so I wandered over and played with some of my doggie pics. If you get a chance to check it out, go for it. I had a great time playing over there. A few pics below of what became of my visit.

This pic is of our Queen Girl, Zoie, one spoiled golden retriever. She runs the house, but she is so darned sweet. She is one special girl!

These two pics are of our big baby boy, Colby, our border collie. Love him! Are they cool or what?

Butterfly in the Wind

This weeks quote challenge over at Paper Whimsy
http://www.paperwhimsy.com/ is Butterfly in the Wind by Hilda Conkling, such a beautiful poem and you can read it below. The challenge this week was to make your 5x5 creation on a tissue paper background, the color of your own choosing. The digi sheet for this week was full of beautiful butterflies, hands and the quote sheet. You had to use at least one butterfly, a touch of silver, (which is on the fingertips of the hand in my piece, doesn't show up though), a word or phrase from the poem and at least one other Paper Whimsy image. Those images are so gorgeous it is not hard to include one in any work I do. This was a fun challenge, not all that crazy about the tissue paper background, had to wait forever for it to dry, not good at waiting, once I got it dry, I applied a bit of crackle paint so I was in the holding pattern again. Guess that was a good thing as I had time to scrape all the goo off my hands from mucking around with gel medium and crackle paint..LOL...Once the background was complete I was on my way to the collage. I am making the quotes into a little book, so once everything was dry I created my book pages and added the artwork. Fun!!!
